Philadelphia Releases Draft 5-Year Review of Zoning

Read the Zoning Code 5-Year Report (DRAFT) and Appendix on the first five years since the re-write of the Zoning Code. On August 22, 2012, a new zoning code went into effect for the City of Philadelphia. This first comprehensive rewrite of the code in 50 years was a product of a thorough civic engagement process involving neighborhood, government, business, professional and civic leaders. The Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I) is responsible for administering the zoning code. L&I ensures public safety by issuing permits and licenses and providing inspections.
